The group of people that make up Xalt all come from different churches and backgrounds, therefore encompassing a wide range of different doctrines. However, we believe that true unity comes from working in harmony with each other, but not necessarily all being the same. All are welcome to our meetings, regardless of whether or not you attend church and whether or not you identify with any particular denomination. We believe we are “the church” ie we are part of the body of Christ, not “a church” or denomination. Neither are we seeking to be an alternative to church for those who attend our meetings. Instead, our aim is to serve the Body of Christ, support the local church, and facilitate individuals to worship God in spirit and truth. We are a worship ministry, concerned with leading people into the presence of God so that He can speak and minister to them Himself. We do not feel that it is our calling to preach, unless it is to teach or bring a message of something specific that He has given us. However, as a ministry team we do have a set of core beliefs; please see below for more information. Everyone involved with Xalt feels that they have a specific call on their lives to worship Him, and to facilitate others in doing the same. However, we believe that worship is not just a once a week activity, and does not just involve music and singing; it is a lifestyle. As Christians, we are all called to worship God wholeheartedly using all the gifts and talents God has given us. Worship is at the heart of all we do to the glory of God.
God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit …Father: God is love, caring for creation and for every human being as God's beloved child. …Son: God is as He has revealed Himself to be in the historical person of Jesus Christ. Jesus' life, death and resurrection hold the key to knowing and loving God, and to making sense of life, before and after death. …and Holy Spirit: God is alive, living, loving and active today, inspiring faith, justice and truth, sustaining the world, giving spiritual gifts to the church, and bearing His spiritual fruit in the world - changed lives and a transformed society.
Creation and the Fall The Scriptures We believe that the Bible, consisting of both Old and New Testaments, is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the infallible and authoritative Word of God. We believe that in all matters of faith and life, the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the final authority.
Jesus’ life, death and resurrection Jesus came to be the Passover Lamb, the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, to give us salvation and life after death. However, He also came to bring life before death, life in all its fullness. In Luke Chapter 4, verses 18 & 19, Jesus read the words of the prophet Isaiah: Jesus came so that we could have a relationship with God, and so that we could free to be the people He created us to be, instead of being bound by the chains of sin and sickness. He led a perfect, sinless life, preached the Gospel, performed miracles, and healed and delivered the afflicted. Jesus was crucified, buried and raised from the dead. He was the perfect Passover Lamb, once and for all defeating satan, releasing us from slavery and guilt. His death and resurrection, the one sacrifice for sin forever, has replaced all the sacrifices of the Old Covenant, and is now the only ground for redemption. By believing in Jesus, repenting of our old ways, and accepting Him as Lord and Saviour, we are redeemed and justified by His blood. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way, the ONLY truth, and the ONLY life. Jesus is the one in whom we are called to put our hope, our only hope for forgiveness of sin and for reconciliation with God and with one another. Jesus defeated the grave; He rose again from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father in glory, where He personally intercedes for us with the Father.
The Holy Spirit Changed Lives As Christians we are called to a life of faith and ministry until that mission is completed by the coming of the Kingdom in its fullness. The Holy Spirit empowers us to fulfil that calling. We believe that Christians are not to be conformed to the world, but should seek to conform to Christ in every area of life.
The Second Coming The Church We believe that Christ commissioned the church to go into all the world, making disciples Worship
